Welcome to the top end of King Island....
The Reekara Community Complex is a Lions Club initiative designed to preserve the former Reekara Primary School, which closed at the end of 1997. Set on spacious grounds and offering unique multipurpose function rooms, the Complex can be hired for a variety of events, limited only by the imagination. Hard working volunteers continue to fundraise and maintain the property, which is located on the main tourist route at the Northern end of King Island. Visitors are always welcome...

Reekara Primary School opened in 1963 and catered for the children of local Soldier Settlers. Principal Laurie O'Keefe welcomed 2 teachers and 69 students into the wonderful world of country education. 34 years later, with an enrolment of 8 students, the school had to close.
In 1998, the Lions Club stepped in and with community support, the doors of this little country school remain open for functions and events.

Volunteers are always welcome.
There are cleaning and minor maintenance jobs which need our attention to keep our facility ready for visitors.
